野草舞蹈聚落創建十年來持續發表獨立製作，以一個皮箱打包服裝道具的概念之下，追求形式的獨特與內涵的深度、精緻中建構格局，立足本土、走向國際，獲得廣大回響，並接連受邀參與國際藝術節演出，其中包括《春之祭》（香港比舞藝術節）、《無形》（希臘雅典Summer Nostos Festival）、《他鄉》（廣東現代舞週）、《浮域誌異》（臺灣戲曲中心芝山喜戲節）、《六出》（越南胡志明國際舞蹈節）、《我們選擇的告別》（澳門當代舞展）、《離騷》（多倫多台灣文化藝術週）等。《我們選擇的告別》與《兩個身體》分別獲得台新獎2013與2014年度提名肯定。
吳建緯為野草舞蹈聚落藝術總監，專注表演與創作、劇場以及攝影。
2017年榮獲勞力士基金會師從大師計畫(Rolex Mentor and Protégé)提名，進入準決選前五名。2019年榮獲ACC亞洲文化協會紐約獎助計畫，以及羅曼菲舞蹈獎助金。
Based on an ethos of vagrancy, according to which props and costume should fit into a suitcase, Tussock Dance Theater pursues singularity of form, depth of meaning, and meticulous structuring that leaves even the smallest building block with a designated function. Grounded with a firm foothold in the native, its outlook is directed towards the cosmopolitan.
WU Chien-Wei is director of the Tussock Dance Theater, dividing his attention between performance and creative work, and theatre and film. In 2017 he was nominated for the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative, being among the final five contestants in the dance category. In 2019 he was granted the Asian Cultural Council New York Fellowship as well as the Lo Men-Fei Dance Grant.
