Manon Mafrici and Pasquale Fortunato transport us with ingenuity and virtuosity into their poetic worlds. “After all” is a mischievous and tender show about time, at the crossroads of contortion, the art of illusion and breakdancing.
Pasquale called “BBOY PACO” in the world of competitions and battles is a “bboy” (breakdancer = floor dancer), known throughout the world for his impressive figures called “Powermoves” and more particularly by the one called “the ninety” ( laps on the hand), he holds one of the world records of 26 laps.
Manon Mafrici, a 23-year-old multidisciplinary dancer, began dancing with classical and jazz then moved on to breakdancing and trained in contortion. She likes to bring excellence to each discipline she practices with the aim of creating her own style.
Manon highlights intangible time in AFTER ALL, through contortion, she symbolizes the metaphor of time. Pasquale, for his part, characterizes the notion of time without limits through the use of his “powermoves” (rotating figures).
Time is an infinite circle that man counts and materializes by the clock.
The singularity of each artist is desired and is highlighted: the artists meet during jazz and contemporary dance passages.
This duo after all represents the alliance of these two perfectionist artists.
They want to highlight dance by focusing on the technical aspect.
The movement is brought to its maximum difficulty, all in contrast with the poetic and sensitive universe that they create together.
This piece questions time from Humanity's point of view:
Man is dependent on the passage of time. At his birth, he falls into the universe and crosses it during his life to end it at his death.
A logical thread, man knows that he is born to die one day.
However, it is hard to accept that this life can be marked by unpredictable events such as illness, the vagaries of life...
Love becomes the solution... If life follows its destiny, “the essence” is to enjoy it with the people we love.
In this 50-minute piece, the audience represents Man in the History of time, symbolized here by the two artists on stage. Manon and Pasquale offer their vision of life with its positive and negative sides.
The public has the freedom to appropriate the story offered to them as they wish without being able to change anything, remaining just “spectators” of time. Nevertheless, the soul remains outside of time. Manon and Pasquale symbolize it by the use of
“magic”, through a play of luminous fingers that they adapted to their dance.
AFTER ALL is an escape, a breath of fresh air for the public.
