Milonga del Apocalipsis / Dance Highlights

Milonga del Apocalipsis
“When the world resets to zero, would you still dance the last dance?”
Milonga del Apocalipsis (Apocalypse Milonga) is a cross-disciplinary dance work that blends Argentine tango and contemporary dance, inspired by human relationships in the age of AI.
As technology brings us closer while simultaneously distancing us from one another, the dancers explore the tension and dialogue between two bodies—encountering, embracing, separating, and reconfiguring—reflecting how people may find each other again in an era of uncertainty and disorder.
This dance is not an ending, but a question:
In a future where AI and humanity coexist, will we still be able to find one another—and dance together until the very end?
The work premiered in December 2025. The full version runs approximately 60 minutes.

I Fan Wu is a visual artist, interdisciplinary creator, and Argentine tango dancer and teacher based in Taiwan.
In 2020, Wu founded Gesang Dance Theater, focusing on dance-theatre productions that interweave bodily movement, visual imagery, and contemporary social issues. Her works often draw from personal memory, everyday objects, and collective experience, transforming tango into a language for exploring intimacy, identity, and human relationships in the contemporary world.
Her work Relic Project was selected for the International Exchange Program of the 2023 Want to Dance Festival and received the Jury Prize from the Taiwan Visual Arts Alliance.
