Alina Menshchikova is a contemporary dancer and solo artist working between physical theatre and choreographic research. Born in Barnaul (Russia) and currently based in St. Petersburg / Tbilisi (Georgia), she develops performances that explore the body as an archive of memory, pain, and inherited gestures.
Her practice investigates endurance, repetition, and the moment when sensation shifts - when pain transforms into numbness or into strength. Through falls, stillness, and sustained physical tension, she examines how personal and collective histories are stored in the body.
Her work often begins from simple physical actions and expands into states of persistence, vulnerability, and resistance. She is interested in how a solitary body can hold traces of collective experience - carrying memories of discipline, childhood, and social structures embedded in movement.
Her performances unfold as physical rituals - precise, restrained, and emotionally charged - where the body becomes both witness and landscape.
